Summer at Star Gallery, Northeast Harbor, ME

See the source image

After a wonderful time last summer, I am thrilled to be back at Star Gallery, on Mount Desert Island, Maine, for a second summer! This time, instead of an exhibition, I will have work available at the gallery throughout the summer. Mostly small work, as well as a few medium sized pieces to see if you are up in Acadia. Katherine always has some fantastic artists in her space. I love Michele Lauriat, who I have exhibited with in the past, her watercolor work is inspired (she’ll be exhibiting Aug 2nd) and Robert S. Neuman is another personal favorite who will be in later August.

A preview of the work is below, any questions can be directed to the gallery (information below):

Eyes Wide Open

Had so much fun at the Opening Reception for, “Eyes Wide Open”, at the Cambridge School of Weston. There was such a festive vibe and got to spend time with some very talented female artists from the National Association of Women Artists.

My piece, “Caught Inside”, is 29x44x2″ acrylic on multiple panels of acrylic.

It was a scene, I came with my posse of little ladies, their daddy and the infamous Uncle Paddy Cakes in town from Montana.

Thanks everyone for making it out! The exhibition runs through March 2nd!

Cheers!

Myth & Memory at the South Shore Art Center

Along with the juried show, “Journeys”, that includes two of my pieces, I am currently in a small group show, “Myth & Memory” at the South Shore Art Center in the Dillon Gallery. The show runs from now until February 15th so please stop by if you are in the neighborhood!

Joining me in the show are fellow gallery artists Danguole Rita Kuolas, Michele Meister, Marie Peters, and Judy Rossman.

I’ll have 8 pieces in this show,  all of which have never been shown at the Art Center before. All of my work shown are multilayered acrylic paintings of sea scapes. The show is a quick survey of what I’ve been working on in this medium over the last year spanning multiple different series.

The South Shore Art Center is located at:

119 Ripley Road, Cohasset, MA

They’re open 10-4 Mon to Sat, and 12-4 on Sundays.

Thank you to everyone for all the support this past year, it’s been very busy and so exciting and I can’t wait to see what 2015 holds!

New Painting: Caught Inside

My most recent painting from my new series, Spindrift, is a 29×44″ multilayered paneled acrylic piece entitled, “Caught Inside”.

As I’ve increased my scale and narrowed my composition, I am really interested in how the layering and scale starts transform the image. I’ve loved the movement and emotion that these big waves have been taking on and making them have been really therapeutic in a way.

This piece, is showing at the South Shore Art Center from January 9th- February 15th, seeing it in person is a whole different experience.

Thanks!
