Scituate Education Foundation: Light Up the Night

This April 6th, the Scituate Education Foundation will hold their annual gala, “Light Up the Night” benefiting educational programs in the community. I am so pleased to have been asked to donate a piece to their photography auction. The ‘Colorscape Gallery’, showcases work from area artists highlighting the range of colors seen throughout the region.

This is an unusual piece for me as I typically use my photography as reference, not as the final piece. See a sneak peak below:

As of now, this is a single print so in order to bid, you will have to see it at the event! For tickets, see their website, and hopefully I’ll see you on April 6th!

Marine Arts Gallery, October 13th – November 5th- Extended!

Update!, My work being exhibited at The Marine Arts Gallery in Marblehead, MA is being extended a few weeks!

The 47 year established gallery is in a new, year-old space after selling their former property to the Peabody Essex Museum for their major expansion. There is quite a range of my work being shown including some of my largest pieces, at close to 3′ x 4′, to small works and studies at 6″ x 6″.

This has been my first exhibition on the North Shore and so far it has been a fantastic experience! We had a very successful opening night on the 13th with great responses and reactions, not to mention getting to know some of the local art community. The gallery has a high caliber group of regional artists and it has so far been wonderful to work with them.

While some work has sold, there is still plenty to see (more than 20 pieces) if you are in the Salem/Marblehead area. I’m not sure exactly the closing date as it may depend on the wee babe, but will keep you posted!

“Dunes” at South Shore Art Center Festival

Last week, the South Shore Art Center informed me that my small work, “Dunes”, had been awarded an honorable mention at this year’s Arts Festival on Cohasset common. What a happy little surprise to brighten your day!

The piece is a respite from my current water-work, but in these smaller pieces I like to change things up from time to time. If you would like to come see the work, it will be in the big tent on Cohasset common for the weekend of June 17th – June 19th. There is an award ceremony for all of the prize winners at the stage on the common at 5pm on the 17th if you want to stop by and say ‘hi’ and glad a lobster roll or strawberry shortcake!

Along with my new exhibition in New York, I’m looking forward to heading to to New Britain, CT  this Sunday to attend the opening for a new exhibit I am so excited to be part of, “Nor-Easter” at the New Britain Museum of American Art.

My recent piece, “Mercury, #2” took third prize and will be on view at the museum from January 9th to February 14th, 2016.

The Opening Reception will be from 1pm to 2:30pm on January 10th.

A Sunday mid-day opening seems so different and kind of awesome. I am so looking forward to seeing the latest at the museum as well! It’ll be quite the weekend as I’ll be in NYC for my other exhibition opening at the Woodward Gallery the day before, “New Work, New York” (see more on the show here).

Whew! Here’s to an exciting start to 2016!

Here’s to 2016! I am completely thrilled to be invited to the exhibition, “New Work, New York” at the Woodward Gallery, in Manhattan. The exhibition highlights the art of 18 artists, none of which have shown at the gallery before.

My piece, “And Again”,  was selected and will be on display until the end of February.

New Work, New York

January 9th – February 27th, 2016
Artist Reception: Sat., Jan. 9th from 6-8pm

It’s even more special that the gallery is around the corner from my first apartment in New York when I moved to the Lower East Side in 2000. Kind of fun to be near my old hood (even though it is SOOO much nicer now than back then)! Hope to see you at the opening!
